Public Participation

Environmental Education is a tool to prepare future generations for the sustainable development challenges. It is a tool to reach integrated water resources management: with public participation. In the First EPI Annual Meeting, the group ellected Public Participation as a key issue for EPI in the next term. [click here to read the First Meeting reports]

The project is entitled, “Enhancement of public participation.” It consists of the following tasks:

  •  To enhance the current EPI website;
  •  To create and conduct electronic workshops on various pressing
    issues;
  •  To provide technical information for use in regional and local
    educational courses and workshops;
  •  To develop educational kit (e.g., video, CD-ROM, brochure, etc.);
    and
  •  To ensure that each EPI annual meeting includes in its program the
    public participation issue.

In all tasks, the EPI supports the Inter-American Strategy for the
Promotion of Public Participation (GEF/OAS)

If you have any ideas to help us accomplish these tasks, feel welcome to
become EPI partner and write to us.
